Selected Group Exhibitions

Alongside his solo exhibitions, Kevin O’Dwyer has participated in an extensive range of group shows that underline both the breadth of his practice and his standing within the international field of contemporary metalwork and design. His work has been consistently featured at major international fairs such as Sculpture, Objects and Functional Art (SOFA) in Chicago and New York (2000–2007), and in prestigious European touring exhibitions including the 13th and 14th Silver Triennials (2001, 2004). He has exhibited in leading museums and cultural institutions, from the Museum of Art and Design, New York and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (2004), to the Hunt Museum, Limerick and the National Museum of Ireland (2004). O’Dwyer’s inclusion in curated projects such as 40 Shades of Green (Glucksman Gallery, 2005; Farmleigh, 2006), Influences (National Museum of Ireland, 2004), and Teapot Treasures (Hudson River Museum, 2001) further reflects his position at the forefront of contemporary silversmithing. His participation in festivals and special exhibitions across Europe, the United States, and Japan—including the Art of Dining in Tokyo (2004), Silver as Water in Schoonhoven, Netherlands (2002), and multiple appearances at the Royal Dublin Society Craft Exhibition—demonstrates the international appeal and resonance of his work. Collectively, these group exhibitions situate O’Dwyer within a global dialogue on craft, design, and the sculptural potential of silver.

Solo Exhibitions

Throughout his career, Kevin O’Dwyer has presented a wide-ranging programme of solo exhibitions that map the international reach and critical reception of his work. His first major museum show, Selected Works in Silver 1990–1997 at the Ulster Museum, Belfast (1999), established him as a significant voice in contemporary metalwork. Subsequent solo presentations have spanned Europe and the United States, including exhibitions at Espace Paul Ricard, Paris (1999); Roger Billcliffe Gallery, Glasgow (1999, 2005, 2010); and Dublin’s Eblana Gallery (A Sparkling Party, 2008). In the U.S., O’Dwyer has exhibited at institutions and galleries such as Pratt Fine Arts Center, Seattle (2008); the Slidell Cultural Center, Louisiana (2004); Schneider Gallery, Chicago (1994); and multiple shows at The J. Cotter Gallery, Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado (1998, 2000, 2004). His work has also been showcased in innovative spaces including Henri Bendel, New York and Chicago (1992), and Hibernia, with exhibitions in Atlanta (1996), Neptune Beach (2002), and Atlantic Beach, Florida (2000). These exhibitions chart O’Dwyer’s ongoing dialogue with both European and American audiences, underscoring his reputation as an artist whose silversmithing bridges craft tradition and sculptural innovation.
