Designer/Metalsmith/Sculptor

"Below Sea Level" is a striking sculptural collaboration between woodturner Liam Flynn and silversmith Kevin O’Dwyer, merging organic fluidity with structural elegance in a piece that evokes the mysterious beauty of the ocean’s depths.

Cast in bronze and sterling silver, the sculpture features a richly textured base—designed by Flynn—that resembles a carved seaform, undulating and organic, reminiscent of ancient coral or wave-swept rock. Its deep patina and naturalistic contours anchor the piece in earthy, oceanic tones. Rising from this base are O’Dwyer’s sterling silver elements—flowing, tentacle-like forms that twist and stretch upward with a sense of motion and grace. These polished silver tendrils suggest marine life, perhaps kelp, anemones, or bioluminescent creatures drifting just out of reach in the depths.

The fusion of materials—warm, grounded bronze and cool, luminous silver—creates a dynamic contrast that speaks to the collaboration itself: two distinct artistic voices intertwined in a shared vision. The result is a work that feels both ancient and futuristic, static yet alive, like a relic unearthed from the seabed, pulsing with the energy of the tides.

"Below Sea Level" is not just a sculpture—it is an evocation of place and imagination, a tactile meditation on nature, movement, and form beneath the surface.
